Pathfinders is a community archaeology project that records, preserves, and celebrates the real stories of the men and women who came to Britain from the Caribbean in the mid-20th century. These are the Pathfinders — pioneering members of families and communities who went ahead, navigated the unknown, and opened the way for others to follow.

VISION
Pathfinders will be an archival monument that commemorates and celebrate important Caribbean British history. This community heritage project will document authentic grassroots, culturaly nuanced stories. This will enable people and communities to share first hand, authentic lived experiences.
MISSION
Tell the story of Caribbean British people who came from the Commonwealth during and after WWII, and show how their contribution shaped the modern Britain we all share.
Put Caribbean migration stories into the wider social and histircal context.
Increase public understanding of heritage, history and mirgration across the decades.
Collections, traditions, stories and more. Heritage can be anything from the past that people value and want to pass on to future generations. We believe in the power of heritage to ignite the imagination, offer joy and inspiration, and to build pride in place and connection to the past.

Using money raised by National Lottery players we support projects that connect people and communities to heritage. Our vision is for heritage to be valued, cared for and sustained for everyone, now and in the future.
